Levon Wameling Is Missing

Stop me if you've heard this story before.  A child goes missing.  The parent of the missing child does not report the child's disappearance.  The grandparents contact the police to make a missing child report.

No this is not a rehash of the Casey Anthony child.  This is the story of Levon Wameling who was reported missing Tuesday to the Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara, who immediately notified police.

The missing child was staying with Jevon Wameling, his father while Amy Warney, the child's mother was at a drug rehabilitation facility.

Wameling told police Levon disappeared two weeks earlier when Wameling left the baby unattended on the front porch wearing nothing but a diaper. Wameling said he left the baby alone while was trying to get back into his home after locking himself out of the house.

Though he is not a suspect, police are treating Wameling as a "person of interest".  Wameling has requested an attorney and is refusing to speak with the police.

A quick look at Wameling's criminal history indicates that he was charged with resisting arrest, escaping policy custody and harassment in May 2010 after being arrested for allegedly possessing metal knuckles.  In 2009, he was convicted of marijuana possession.

Neighbors indicate that the police were called to Wameling's home on a "weekly basis" because of screaming.

Utica Police say they are continuing to search for the baby, but were not at liberty to specify the locations they are currently searching.

Police say they are aware of a movement by area residents on Facebook to organize a search for baby Levon, but are asking residents not to do so.

They are also advising citizens not to search the nearby area of the father's home on Jay Street as it may contaminate the area police are searching.

Police ask that Utica residents only search their own property and areas just outside of their homes at this time.  They say there may be a time when they ask for the public to assist in an organized search but they are not requesting that now.

If you have any information on missing Levon Wameling you are asked to call the National Center for Missing and Exploited  Children at 1-800-THE-LOST

Elaina Steinfurth Is Missing

Elaina Steinfurth has been missing since Sunday, June 2nd, when her family reported her missing during a custody hand-off.

Sunday afternoon, her dad Terry came to the home of his estranged wife Angela in East Toledo to pick up Elaina for a routine visit.

He says the couple is now in the middle of a bitter divorce battle and Angela wants custody of the girl.
"Her mother refused to give her to me. She went in the house. Was in there 15-20 minutes, came out saying that the baby was missing," said Mr. Steinfurth.

Angela Steinfurth told Toledo News Now she believes Elaina was kidnapped.

"Her boyfriend disappeared out the back door during this time. I don't know if he took her or where she's at right now," said Mr. Steinfurth.

Michael Plumadore Admits He Killed Aliahna Lemmon

When I arrived home from dropping Darryl off at the airport yesterday I arrived just in time to see the second half of the Nancy Grace Show. The story was about a missing Indiana girl named Aliahna Lemon.

Aliahna has several disabilities/emotional problems: She is partially blind and has hearing problems; she suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD).

From what I could gather Aliahna and her two younger sisters were staying with Plumadore for about one week because their mother, Tarah Souders, had been sick with the flu.

Plumadore claimed that on Sunday Aliahna disappeared from the home Friday morning while he was sleeping after having gone to a gas station about a mile away to buy a cigar. Authorities have said the Marathon Gas Station's surveillance video shows him there about that time.

He said he smoked his cigar and went back to sleep, then woke up about 10 a.m. when Aliahna's mother called. After that call, he realized the door to the home was unlocked and that Aliahna was gone. He said Aliahna's 6-year-old sisters told him Aliahna had left with her mom.

The story then seemed to morph into the claim that she left the home in the middle of the night while she was sleep walking. Aliahna's Grandmother even professed that they absolutely believed that Plumadore did nothing, could never have done anything to her precious grandchild. After all Plumadore had gained the trust of the family after befriending her grandfather James Lemmon.

Oh wait, did I mention that they met IN JAIL? That's right, you see James E. Lemmon was convicted March 6, 2006, of child molestation.

Aliahna wasn't reported missing until Friday night when he spoke with Aliahna's mom about 8:30 PM.

Today I learned that Michael Plumadore has confessed that he bludgeoned nine-year old Aliahna to death with a brick then dismembered her, hiding her head, hands and feet at a home where he was staying and dumping the rest of her remains in a nearby dumpster at a convenience store.

Allen County sheriff's investigators said in an affidavit that 39-year-old Michael Plumadore admits he killed Aliahna Lemmon on Thursday.

According to the affidavit, Plumadore told police that after beating Aliahna to death on the front steps of the home in the early morning hours. Plumadore then stuffed her body into trash bags and hid her remains in his freezer. He said he later chopped up her body with a hacksaw and stuffed her remains into freezer bags.

This is such an incredibly horrifying and heartbreaking act. A beautiful little angel left this world far too early at the hands of a vicious murderer. She never really stood a chance did she. I pray that justice is done for Aliahna.

Meanwhile, friends of the little boy released balloons from his Wall of Hope on Saturday. This event was also at Skyline Elementary.

Dede has continued to be more cooperative than when Kyron’s parents released a statement imploring her to cooperate with the probe but investigators continue to believe she still has not told everything she knows.

Please, Anyone with information regarding Kyron Horman whereabouts is asked to call the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office tip line 503 261-2847, or to dial 911 with emergency information.

Where Is Sylar?

The FBI has also joined the investigation. However, officials have released little information about how Newton and Priem know each other

Newton said she struggles with depression and felt her son would have a better life with Priem and her family.

Sylar went missing from a tent in which Priem, her mother Nancy Collins and Priem's 12-year-old daughter were sleeping.

Priem's 14-year-old son and a friend were sleeping in an adjacent tent. Priem reportedly discovered Sylar missing at 1:45 a.m.

It is interesting to note there that according to the Arizona Supreme Court website, a Flagstaff woman named Christine Priem, born in September 1974, has been involved in several court cases dating back to 2003. While some of the incidents are traffic-related, there was a 2007 arrest and subsequent conviction for a "false report to law enforcement."

What is the truth and where is Sylar?

Anyone with information about Syler's whereabouts is urged to contact the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office at 928-771-3260.

Syler Newton Is Missing

Syler Newton disappeared early Sunday while camping with family.

Syler Newton has light-brown hair, blue eyes and was last seen wearing only a diaper. The three-foot-tall, 20-pound toddler was camping with family at the Beaver Creek Campground near Highway 179, off Interstate 17, said Dwight D'Evelyn, a Yavapai County Sheriff's spokesman.

Syler was last seen around midnight inside a tent while sleeping with his mother, grandmother, 12-year-old sister and 14-year-old brother.

A family member awoke about 1:45 a.m. Sunday and discovered the boy was missing from his sleeping bag. Family members searched the immediate area then called 911.

It's pretty hot and humid right now," D'Evelyn said. "The terrain and dehydration would be the critical concerns for us." About 50 search and rescue officials are on scene and an Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter searched from the region from above.

Officials are using ATVs and bloodhounds, which tracked the boys scent for a short distance but didn't find the toddler.

Sheriff's detectives are also present to determine whether "there is any evidence of foul play or any criminal aspects of the incident," D'Evelyn said. "That's routine, especially involving a missing 2-year-old. We want to make sure all our bases are covered."

Officials were also checking with local sex offenders in the area.

Anyone with information or knows of Syler's whereabouts is asked to contact the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office at 928-771-3260 or by calling 911.

Alisa Maier Found Alive After Being Abducted From Front Yard

Alisa Maier, the four year old, who was snatched from her front yard has been found alive and unharmed at a car wash more than 80 miles from her home.

Alisa Maier turned up at a car wash in a St. Louis suburb after a passerby called police to report a little boy wandering outside just before 10 p.m.

It was Alisa, her hair cut short.

Alisa is now recovering at a St. Louis hospital with her parents by her side. She has been able to provide more information about her abductor, a white man in his 30s

FBI spokeswoman Rebecca Wu said the responding officer reported that Maier was unharmed, but seemed tired, The Associated Press reported.

Police are examining surveillance video from local businesses in hopes of finding some clues in the case.

Alisa's father wants to let the public how thankful the family is for all of the community's prayers and thoughts, and for all of the volunteers who worked to find Alisa.

Please help prevent this from happening to another child. Anyone with information can call the Louisiana Police Department at (314) 754-4021 or the Pike County Sheriff's Department at (573) 324 3202.

Suspected Child Abductor Kills Himself

Sometimes a strange thought comes to my mind and I try to shake it. That is the case with Alisa Maier.

I was thrilled to see that Alisa Maier was found alive. When my husband asked me if they found they man who abducted her, I said that they hadn't. Almost the second those words came out of my mouth I thought, "He will probably kill himself because he knows that there is no way out for him."

Now obviously there are hundreds of child molesters out there and they don't kill themselves. It was just a strange thought that kind of stayed with me for about an hour or so.

By no stretch of the imagination am I psychic but sometimes a hunch screams out at me and I will have no earthly clue as to why it happens.

I set about running my errands and doing my chores and when I checked the news I found out that there is now an update in this case.

St. Louis County Police confirm for KMOX News that the person of interest in the Alisa Maier child abduction case shot and killed himself as he was approached by police in Lincoln County on Highway D. A police spokesman tells KMOX that they have also located a car matching the description of the suspect's vehicle but police are stopping short of calling him the abductor.

His name is said to be Paul Sterling Smith. Smith is a convicted sex offender who was released from jail a few weeks ago on drug charges. In 1995 he pleaded guilty to sodomy with a 10-year-old and was sentenced to 15 years in jail.

Sadly once again we threw open the prison doors to allow another child to be abused.

Alisa Maier: Missouri 4 Year Old Kidnapped From Front Yard

Authorities issued an Amber Alert for Alisa, who was apparently abducted Monday evening while playing with her older brother outside the family home in Louisiana, Missouri.

The girl was playing with her brother in the front yard as her parents prepared dinner inside the home, according to police and neighbors. Her brother told police that a black four-door car, probably a convertible with tinted windows, pulled up to the house and a thin man made off with the Alisa.

Alisa has straight brown hair, brown eyes and weighs about 40 pounds. She stands 3 feet tall and was last seen wearing a white-shirt and blue denim shorts.

Alisa's brother described the alleged abductor as a thin white male, possibly in his late teens or 20s with dark, curly hair. He was driving a black or dark-colored four-door sedan with possible front end damage, according to authorities.

Anyone with information can call the Louisiana Police Department at (314) 754-4021 or the Pike County Sheriff's Department at (573) 324 3202.

Parents Urge Kyron Horman's Stepmother To Cooperate

The biological parents of a missing Oregon boy issued a plea for his stepmother. "We implore Terri Horman to fully cooperate with the investigators to bring Kyron home,"

Caylee Anthony Is Still Missing

The mystery surrounding missing child, Caylee Anthony, deepens today. Caylee was originally reported missing two days ago by her grandmother Cindy Anthony. Caylee's Mom, Casey Anthony told police that her daughter had been missing for some 31 days after having been taken by her babysitter.

Investigators brought a cadaver dog back to the Anthony home around noon Friday to check a spot toward the back of the backyard, in an area where there are some bushes. The fact that the dog was on scene is a sign that they haven't seen anything yet, but sometimes the evidence in a case like this might not be visible to the naked eye.

Casey Anthony is being held without bond in the Orange County jail. She's charged with felony child neglect. She had her first appearance in court Thursday, but did not say much to the judge.

Jose Baez, Casey's attorney, said that Casey's first priority is finding her daughter, despite some sensationalized media reports. Baez filed a motion to get her bonded out of jail after a judge denied her first request this week.

At 8:44 p.m. today, July 15, 2008, Cindy Anthony called Orange County 911. After initially reporting that she wanted her 22-year-old daughter arrested for stealing her car, Cindy told the dispatcher, "I have a 3-year-old that's missing for a month."

The dispatcher said she was sending a sheriff's unit to the Anthony's house on Hopespring Drive, just outside the city limits of Orlando.

An hour later, Cindy called 911 again. This time she sounded panicked. "There's something wrong," she told the dispatcher. "I found my daughter's car today. It smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car." Cindy said she had not seen her granddaughter since the middle of June.

In her statement to police Casey said that on June 12 — three days after Caylee disappeared — the primary suspect, Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez, called her, yet in her written statement to police Casey didn't provide any details. "I received a quick call from Zenaida," was all she wrote about that conversation.

Casey explained that she had spent the last month cruising malls and parks, "any place I could remember Zenaida taking Caylee." Casey also said she went to popular bars and restaurants "and tried to find any information about Caylee or Zenaida."

It is very important that this child is found. Someone knows the truth. someone knows where this child is located. If you know please CONTACT National Center for Missing & Exploited Children1-800-843-5678 (1-800-THE-LOST) or the Orange County Sheriff's Office (Florida) 1-407-836-HELP (4357)
